The ol’ Campbellville

The camp was originally started by Jennings Earl Campbell in the mid-sixties.  Dating back to at least the 1940s, the site was the location of a bear hunt club.  Before that the land was a tomato farm, until blight eliminated the industry.  An old cannery still stands east on Jennings Creek Rd.

Being “off-grid” has brought us much joy over the years.  We never had to worry about our kids being on phones or computers too much!  The resulting love of nature and being outside is highly valued.  I look back on Mr. Campbell’s brochure and love how he invites you to get away from the hurried, stress of city life.  I agree!  I think his brochure is more relevant today!
